On a volunteer call, the first question is always the same: who's coming? The kiosk answers it on screen, at the station and on the truck, without anyone working the phone. Members respond from the 911 Analytics app, and both screens fill in as they do.
The station board
Put a TV on the wall, open your station's kiosk link, and leave it. Between calls it's the station's bulletin board. When a call drops it switches to the response by itself, and it goes back when the call closes.
Between calls
- Clock, date, and local weather
- Runs today and runs this month
- Upcoming training and events
- Who's on duty now and who's available next
- Every apparatus, in service or out, with the reason it's out
- A message from leadership across the top, standing or set to expire
When a call drops
- Call type and address across the top, with a running elapsed clock
- A count for each station, one for POV, and a total, so staffing is clear at a glance
- Responders grouped by where they're headed, with this station listed first
- A live drive-time ETA for each member headed to the station or straight to the scene, worked out from their phone's location
- Members move under their truck once they're seated, and still count toward their station
- The route from the station to the call on a satellite map
- More than one active call? Each one gets its own tab
The apparatus kiosk
Mount a tablet in the apparatus and it becomes the portable command board. When dispatch hits, it opens to the call with the response map, crew seats, and the pre-plan for the address. No login and no fumbling, just the call in front of you.
- Live response map with apparatus GPS and tactical markers
- Status workflow: responding, on scene, cleared, back on station
- Crew and seat accountability as members climb aboard
- Pre-plans for the address, including verified ResponderReady™ information
- Drop markers to plan apparatus placement and scene layout
- A running ticker of the call as it unfolds
- Boots straight to the board, with a PIN needed only to exit
Each screen shows what its audience needs. The station board sits where anyone walking through can see it, so it never shows door codes or resident medical details. Those stay on the apparatus kiosk, with the crew answering the call.
What you need
- Station board: any TV with a web browser. A smart TV, a small PC, or a laptop plugged into the TV all work. Nothing to install.
- Apparatus kiosk: a tablet with the 911 Analytics app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Setup: add each screen in 911 Analytics and give it a name, like "Station 1 Board" or "Engine 1".
- Staying put: both screens stay on the board by themselves. Leaving the station board takes a member's sign-in, and leaving the apparatus kiosk takes a PIN.
It all connects
The kiosk runs on the same records as the rest of 911 Analytics. Dispatch opens the call, responses from the app land on both screens, and the members who respond are added to the run report's personnel automatically. The apparatus status board on the wall comes from your apparatus records, and the pre-plan on the tablet is the same one your officers keep up to date.
